Veriant is currently looking for individuals for Activation/Installation Engineer roles with a top telecommunications company in Herndon, VA. These are full time, contract to hire roles with the opportunity for paid over time.
In these roles, you will work directly with Project Managers and will be responsible for provisioning users’ services, designing and implementing call flows, and working on the design, installation, and support of VoIP technology.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support for field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel during activations of designed products
- Functioning as the first line of product support and troubleshooting on design and installations.
- Collaborating with network engineers or administrators to ensure that VoIP traffic does not interfere with or hinder network data traffic.
- Helping to design and test reliability and maintenance problems, while working with cloud engineering and software engineering teams.
- Mediating any issues between Provisioning and Dealers/Customers during initial set up of VOIP product.
- Maintaining and consolidating circuit level voice IP drawings.
- Running scripts in C shell on a Unix environment.
Required:
- 3 + years of experience with networking, telecommunications, or application
- Experience with VoIP and Integrated equipment (Edgemarc, Adtran, Cisco, Polycom, Meraki, Broadsoft, ACME, FaxCore).
- Knowledge of access provisioning (DS1, ADSL, EoC, HiCap).
- Ability to understand complex network designs.
- Experience in TCP/IP routing.
- Knowledge of multi-protocol label switching (MPLS).
- Knowledge of signaling protocols (e.g., SIP).
- Flexibility to work past scheduled time.
- Comfortable in a fast paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with Broadsoft
