One of our top clients is looking for a Technical Manager in Denver Tech Center.
What You’ll Do:
In this role you will provide leadership and technical support for all network categories. You will develop and implement effective operations, troubleshooting and problem resolution techniques, as well as provide training and team management for technicians working on all Ethernet offerings. On a day to day basis, you can expect to:
- Function is a networking environment which includes Layer 2 – Ethernet technologies.
- Work in OSS environment involving various operating systems.
- Provide database management, workflow management, and ticket management.
- Research and develop effective solutions for high priority or regularly occurring issues.
- Work with Optical Transport Network Technology.
- Provide one on one coaching and feedback to team members and leads, along with ongoing training plans.
- Participate in hiring new team members.
- Provide regular updates and metrics on team performance as well as recommendations to senior management regarding training and process improvement.
What You Bring:
You are a people person with a strong technical side. You would love to manage a team of ambitious professionals but do not want to lose touch with actual troubleshooting and support. You have:
- A degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- At least 5-8 years of network operations experience.
- Experience working in a very complex networking environment.
- Experience with a variety of tools that cooperate with a production networking environment.
- The ability to plan projects and organize a team.
- Experience creating or assisting with employee evaluations.
- Ability to work with employees to improve processes and performance.
- Experience installing, configuring and maintaining various network management tools such carrier-class Ethernet hardware platforms
- Specifically, Cisco, Juniper EX/MX, BTI, Telco Systems, Overture, AdTran and Cisco is highly desirable.
What We Offer:
The environment is 24x7 and technicians work 5 regular 8 hour shifts [Mon-Fri, Sun-Thurs, or Tues-Sat). Available shifts fall between 6 am – 6 pm (graveyard is available only if interested). This is a flexible office that is set up to allow for 1 day/week of working from home.
